Mulhauser enjoys himself, Lecuona too tense
Finishing second in the final race of the season on the circuit of Valencia, Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, Thomas Lüthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) secured his title as a vice world champion Moto2 2016. This marks his best season since winning the world title (125cc in 2005). The winner of four Grand Prix (Qatar, Great Britain, Japan and Australia), with six podiums, the Swiss rider gallantly managed his race this Sunday with intelligence, beating Franco Morbidelli, fighting for the second position, on the last lap in an impressive style. Robin Mulhauser, who is leaving the team carXpert Interwetten, was classified 21st, three positions ahead of his young teammate Iker Lecuona from Spain. In the team's hospitality, the boss of the two Swiss teams, Frédéric Corminboeuf, had a smile on his face: "We are vice world championship! With my team we managed to bring Tom to a level where he hasn't been since 2005. It was emotional standing under the last podium of the season, thinking about all the work that we have done to arrive here. Thomas went to grab it with a strong character, determination and aggression. At 30 years of age, he continues to learn and we will prove this together: 2017 will be exceptional. Robin Mulhauser? Since the beginning of our collaboration I was sure that we could achieve something together; for various reasons we were wrong. But this weekend he was in a good spirit, with his best friend here, he had a consistent race. I would like to wish him all the best in his new adventure - world supersport championship - and who knows maybe we meet again one day. Iker Lecuona wanted too much this weekend, we were in his home country, he had too many people around him and he was a bit lost. It is a new experience and with a clear head we will remind him during a planned de-briefing that riding a bike is not a game from now on, it is a job."

Robin Mulhauser (carXpert Interwetten, 21st): "It was quite a good race. The laps were not dragging for me, which is a good sign. I was fighting with Luca Marini, Rossi's half brother, but I spent a lot of time behind him before finding a room. I enjoyed myself a lot today and there were a lot of emotions under the podium with Tom's second position and for me a few regrets: I am leaving Grand Prix without achieving what I wanted."
Iker Lecuona (carXpert Interwetten, 24th): "It wasn't a good day. At the beginning of the race I experienced a problem with the front and I got too tense because I really did not want to crash. I would like to say sorry to my team because I did not manage to stay fully concentrated this whole weekend. Again it is something that I have learned."
