Aegerter experiences problems again, Mulhauser suffers from yesterday’s crashes

18.10.2014

The two Technomag-carXpert riders, Dominique Aegerter and Robin Mulhauser will start the Australian Moto2 Grand Prix on Sunday morning at Phillip Island from the sixth (16th fastest lap time) and the last row of the starting grid respectively, if Mulhauser is able to start at all. The start will be at 5:20am Swiss time, bearing in mind the time difference. Having struggled yesterday, Aegerter certainly improved the gap between himself and the fastest riders - he is only 0.5 seconds off the lap times that would put him on the second row; the whole Top-20 is divided by less than a second. However, he has not been able to find the little extra to move forward. When it comes to Robin Mulhauser, worn out after his two crashes yesterday, he could not ride a lot today and whether he will start the race tomorrow will only be decided on Sunday morning.

Dominique Aegerter (16th): "I improved by 0.8 seconds compare to yesterday, I am not losing more than 0.7 seconds on the pole man. This category is very tight, however, I am far from happy. I did not have a sufficient feeling with the front of my bike; we have to improve this for the race. I am still not able to concentrate fully on my riding. But I know this will come back. Perhaps I need a break, but this is not possible because we have three races in a row so I will have to satisfy myself with a good night sleep and tomorrow, as always, I will give it everything I can to finish in the first half of the classification."

Robin Mulhauser (33rd): "Yesterday I hit my head twice really hard and I am sore everywhere. The medics here in Australia gave me permission to race but I feel like a have a fever. After 5 or 6 laps I cannot concentrate anymore and my vision deteriorates. This morning in the third free practice it was even dangerous because I was simply not able to ride on a Grand Prix pace. I qualified - 107% off the best time - but under these circumstances I am not sure at all if I will be able to start on Sunday morning."
