Aegerter (3rd) on the front row, Mulhauser had a small crash
Dominique Aegerter (Team Technomag-carXpert) is certainly in good form at the moment in the World Moto2 Championship: having again dominated the third free practice session for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis, the Swiss rider - who presented his yellow leather suit today, which was a reward for his victory in Germany - was classified third fastest in qualifying behind the two championship leaders, Mika Kallio from Finland and Spaniard Esteve "Tito" Rabat. On Sunday Aegerter will start from the front row of the starting grid.
Dominique Aegerter (3rd): "I know that it may seem a bit strange to be disappointed with a third position, but I expected more today especially after such promising free practice sessions. To be honest, I did not manage to put a perfect lap together; mainly I made a small mistake on my final lap that perhaps cost me the pole position or at least a second position. This afternoon everyone was pushing really hard. I was doing my very best at all times but it was not enough. It is a pity but I know that my pace is really good on this circuit. So now it will be the same story like always: I have to get a good start and fight with the fastest out there."
Robin Mulhauser (31st): "Even though my day ended with a crash, I am quite happy with what we have done: a big step forward this morning that continued this afternoon. I had a small problem with my handlebar that forced me to make an unplanned pit stop but when I went back out I found a good feeling again. There in my second fast lap I was a bit too optimistic in turn 6 and I went down. Luckily I escaped unhurt. It is such a pity because I feel good on this circuit of Indianapolis and my objective for the race is clear: I want to get into my best race pace immediately and maintain it for the entire duration of the race."
